Universal Pre-Kindergarten
This is a great new program that was passed by voters in
2002 to be made available by the fall of 2005. This program
comes as a relief to many parents faced with finding affordable,
high quality Pre-K education. The program is voluntary and
provides parents a 3 or 6-hour day of pre-school for children
who are eligible to begin Kindergarten the following school
year.
McKay Scholarship
The John M. McKay scholarship allows parents of students
with disabilities to choose the best learning environment
for their children. The parent of a Florida public school
student who is dissatisfied with the student’s progress
may request a McKay scholarship to enroll in and attend
a private school or choose another public school that better
suits the students’ needs. The McKay program puts
the power back into the parent’s hands. Schools are
not “one size fits all.” Parents should look
into all of their options and choose which best suits the
needs of their individual child

Florida P.R.I.D.E.
Florida P.R.I.D.E. scholarships are awarded annually to
eligible students entering grades K-12 from eligible households
to help them attend an eligible private school or the out
of district public school of their choice. The scholarships
are for tuition and books (private school) or public transportation
(out of district) which are funded by legislation that enables
Florida Corporations to re-direct a portion of their state
income tax debt to authorized scholarship funding organizations.
